The 2009 Lancer is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in 5 trims, ranging from the DE to the Ralliart.

Upon introduction to Louisville, the DE is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 152-horsepower engine that achieves 22-mpg in the city and 30-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The Ralliart is equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 237-horsepower, turbo engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard.

The 2009 Lancer is a carryover from 2008.

The 2009 Galant is a 4-door, 5-passenger family sedan, available in 4 trims, ranging from the ES to the 25757.23Ralliart.

Upon introduction to Louisville, the ES is equipped with a standard 2.4-liter, I4, 160-horsepower engine that achieves 20-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The 25757.23Ralliart is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, V6, 258-horsepower engine that achieves 16-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard.

The 2009 Galant is reskinned for 2009.
